I have decided to write a little post about Foscarini lamps because I love them and I have one (the red one a wonderfull marriage present..), designed by Rodolfo Dordoni in 1990 they are still very contemporary and can go very well with modern or classic interior decoration (in my case on a very old classical furniture).
The stand is made of brushed stainless steel, a base made of lacquered metal, and a lampshade made of blown glass that's white on the inside and coloured on the outside.
The lampshade finish adds a particular effect to the light when switched on, it is almost like a magic athmosphere. However carefull! It is very fragile (I already broke one on mine, sic!!).
The cost of the red one is a bit more than 200€ and the other one called "Lettura" at about 550€, for all additional info I suggest you to visit the website www.ambientdirect.com you will find a lot of photos and detailed infos.
