Jonathan Baskett was born in Canberra, Australia in 1969.Interested in design he studied glass at the Canberra School of Art, graduating with honours in 1996. Immediately afterwards Baskett moved to Europe to work in the glass industry working throughout, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and England. In 1998, he was studio designer, maker and manager at Ebeltoft Glass Museum, Denmark.
In 1998 Baskett returned to Australia and founded Jonathan Baskett creative a studio focussed on the design and manufacture of hand blown glassware and freelance design of glassware for industry.
