Umidjon is a student in US and he has an obsession whiwh is to draw and sketch cars, even if he is not following a speciphic design car design school he is able to sketch well. This is a good example for you beginners, his side view car sketch coupé is very simple, not messy, few lines, freehand made, good proportions respecting basic reflexions rules on body, grey tones colors to give form and depth.
It looks like a very quick sketch, may be it is not but it gives that impression which is another good thing about Umidjon's car sketch.
Good work!

BMW supercar proposal by Giulio Partisani
Click for larger image
Giulio Partisani is an ex student of IED Torino Design school in Italy and a professional designer, I liked a lot his illustration and proposal for this BMW Supercar. Very dramatic prospective (very low point of view and slightly tilted angle of image), cool color choice very cold with high contrast, great focal point (we can really read this composition), no prospective mistakes and naturally an interesting creative design not too advanced and not traditional, good balance. Last important note is the depth given by the prospective but mostly by the color application.

Ideation sketches by Kevin Nougarede
Today I selected this ideation sketch work done by Kevin Nougarede simply beacuse it is a good example of how to organize a project presentation.
In his work we can see a real respect of a method: composition, focal point, technique, graphics, good communication.
Kevin got his diploma in Transportation Design at Strate College Design school in Paris, France.

Last year of school, soon I'll be a designer
Hi friends,
for many of you this is going to be your last year of school. You will finally get your diploma and be ready for job interviews with the support of your portfolio.
It is not a case that the photo of my post today is a "portfolio case";in fact I would like to remember that to obtain a great outstanding series of projects you must work hard during this last year.
The final year is the most important one, you will put together the technical experience gained during your first years and also your personal Design philosophy that you are forming in your head since the beginning of this adventure.
You will have the chance to make several important projects and some sponsorized, it is an opportunity not to miss. Take care of all your sketches, illustrations, sketch-books, take photos of your models, start thinking how you would like to present all this at the end of the year. How is going to be your portfolio? Too soon to give an answear, but start thinking about it. This idea has to follow you for about 6 or 7 months untill you will really start thinking about packaging your "book".It is going to be a part of your "image".
Another important aspect to take care of is your CV and the English TOEIC Test level (in Europe a young designer must have a score of at least 700 points). Many car companies do not hire if you do not have a high TOEIC score, so start searching for info (you can get it on the net, but also in my "articles").
Good start and good luck!

Back to school!
Hi friends,
vacation time is over and we are ready to go back to school to complete our design courses or we are just getting in to start for the first time a design course.
In any case I wish to all of you to start strong and motivated, remember that to follow a design course means a lots of sacrifices - competition - exercise - and most of all lots of creativity.
Do not be shy, remember that in school you must exercise your creativity the best you can. Try new techniques, be curious, learn hot to work in team, for those that are following their last year be prepared to make a good portfolio do not forget it! Any project or sketch save it and look at it at the end of the year, search for a stage or internship before your diploma.
I'll be there with my tips hoping to serve you the best I can!
Luciano
